Innovative Ideas For Halloween Party Decor

Halloween party decoration need not be restricted to the boring, old 'pumpkin routine' but you can get creative with some truly imaginative ideas which will make your house stand out. Some great ideas for Halloween decorating include hanging cobwebs, floating ghosts on the doorways or ceilings, painted windows and spooky lights etc. Halloween is the only time when you can get away by having cobwebs in the house! The Halloween decorative cobwebs are available pre packaged and simply have to be strung in various corners of the rooms and windows. For added effect, arrange white tapers in rusted candelabras (picked up from flea markets) to enhance the creepiness.

Leave a few long, dangling ones in the corridors or the hall so that they will just brush across the guests' faces when they walk by! Cobwebs also make for great outdoor Halloween decorations as they can be strewn upon bushes or trees and these give a spooky effect at night. Although the floating ghosts are a tried and tested symbol of Halloween, there is no abating in their popularity and they continue to 'haunt' the homes on Halloween. No Halloween party decor is complete without at least one spooky ghost eerily brushing across your face upon the doorway or leering at you from the ceiling especially in some dark corner of a corridor.

These decorations can be suspended with the help of a clear thread. To give a slight twist, make small ghosts of white tissue paper and stick them around the house. These are easy Halloween decorations to make. A scary stuffed scarecrow or a pumpkin headed specter makes for effective Halloween yard decorations. Place either of them in the yard and along with flickering lights create an eerie ambience for the guests.

The stuffed scarecrow can have a scary mask as a head and can be made to sit on a chair for a more realistic effect. The Jack-o-lantern can be carved into a grimacing face and placed on top of a dummy with white sheets as a covering. A smoke or mist machine will give it an added spooky atmosphere. For a truly macabre touch, why not turn your yard into a semblance of a mini graveyard? Cardboard gravestones can be placed in a row and one fake 'ghost' can be made to appear near the gravestone; a pole with a clothes hanger attached to it can be stuck into the ground and clothes can be hung on the hangar. It's sure to give a scary look to your outdoor Halloween decorations. Halloween party decor ideas are limitless and one can get as creative or in this case as 'macabre' as one likes!
