Scooby Doo, where are you? Everyone will be shouting this in anticipation of attending your fun Scooby party. Here are a few Scooby Doo party ideas to help get you started in planning the event of the year for your child.
INVITATIONS
Dog Bone Invite #1 - Cut bone shapes out of tan or brown card stock and write your party details on one side and Come to my Scooby party on the other side.
Dog Bone Invite #2 - Buy some large dog bones. Type or handwrite party details onto a piece of card stock. Trim the edges using decorative scissors. Hole-punch upper left-hand corner, run a ribbon through the hole, and tie to a bone. Hand-deliver your invites.
DECORATIONS
Since the Scooby gang frequently hunts down ghosts, you might consider transforming your party room into a haunted house. If you decide to go this route, then use Halloween decorations to bring your haunted house to life. Things like webs, ghost, bats, and cauldrons will all work nicely.
Another option would be to step back to the 70's and create a groovy atmosphere.
Cut out dog paw prints from brown construction paper or brown card stock and affix to your sidewalk or to a piece of butcher paper that lines your walkway.
Cover the front door in a decorative paper and put, "Welcome To (Name's) Scooby Doo Party."
Create banners that have pictures of Scooby, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne, and Fred, along with their famous quotes like, "Zoinks" or "Jeepers".
Hang Scooby posters on the party room walls.
Hang brown, blue and yellow streamers throughout the room.
Add clusters of brown, blue, and yellow balloons in the corners of the room.
Attach balloon clusters to the backs of the chairs.
If you have access to beanbag chairs, they would be a great 70's addition.
Hang beaded curtains in your doorways.
Hang hippie flowers on the walls.
GAMES
Mummy Wrap - Since Scooby occasionally encounters a mummy, why not incorporate a mummy wrap into your party's activities. Split your guests into teams and give each team two rolls of toilet paper. Designate one person from each team to be the mummy. When you say, "Go," all the non-mummy team members must wrap their mummy designee with the two rolls of TP. Whichever team finishes first, shall be the winners.
Pin The Dog Biscuit On Scooby - Hang a poster of Scooby on the wall. Cut out bone shapes from construction paper and use double-stick tape to pin the dog biscuit as close to his mouth as possible. If you prefer, you could do Pin the Tail on Scooby.
Pinata - Let all your guests take a whack at your mystery-solving doggie with a fun Scooby pinata.
CAKE IDEAS
Dog Bone Cake - If possible, use a pan that is in the shape of a bone. If a pan isn't available, make a rectangular loaf cake. Cut a little bit off the center of the cake sides to make the bone indention shape. Make four cupcakes and place two at each end of the loaf cake. Frost with tan or brown frosting. Add a birthday greeting.
