Want to Haunt a House or Your Yard for Halloween

If you want to Haunt your yard or a house this year for Halloween then you came to the right place. I have been designing Haunted Houses and Haunted Hay rides for the past 5 years. The Haunted Houses and Hay Rides I have designed have been for a Halloween Safe Party for a small City. I have learned what is effective and what is not.

First what you need is to set the mood. This could be easily done with the right music or sound effects, strobe lights, and a fog machine or two just to disorient the person. Once you have that, then comes the hard part. What I mean by hard part is making sure you don't have to much clutter or dead spaces in you haunt. This will make your Haunt boring or overwhelming. You need to make sure that what you give the person(s) enough time absorb everything. You also need to make sure that you have good props and an actor or two. (Actors are not necessary but help with the unknown).

Decorate the area well enough to get your point across. To many things in a scene will make the want to stay longer. If you have not enough things in a scene the person just wants to move on and honestly is not very effective for a scare.

I have a web-site that sales Halloween Items all year long. I also have photographs from a Haunted House I did last year. Feel free to stop by and look at the pictures. Also if you have any questions or would like some help with ideas as to how to haunt your area, email me. I will be more than happy to assist in any way.

Halloween Home Decor - Make Your House Stand Out This Halloween

If you're expecting kids to come trick or treating or just decorating your home for a Halloween party it's generally a wise idea to have Halloween home decor that makes your home look nice and festive. If you're going for something spooky there are many different decorations to choose from. The same goes if you're looking for something campy or something suitable for children. However, the person with a keen eye for detail and an artistic vision will have the house that sets itself apart from the standard home.

It takes a lot more than a few skeletons, bats and tombstones to to have an awesome looking and festive home. The house on the block that stands out is the one with the most original look and design. It could be having decorations that no one else has or a setup of lights that are genuinely creepy. You want people driving or walking past your house do a double take when passing your home. Choosing the right Halloween decor will have people doing exactly that.

You can take the Halloween set up one step further and pick up decorations that you can display through the entire season of Autumn. Black and orange colors and pumpkins are things that are both seasonal and associated with Halloween. That type of decor along with a variety of other decorations can be associated with Halloween, Autumn and Thanksgiving. You could always be creative and combine all three. Maybe a skeletal turkey? Just a thought.

Of course how you decorate your home is all based on your own preferences. There are plenty of different reasons why Halloween stands out to a particular individual. A lot of people like the scary ghost stories while others prefer the blood and guts of zombie movies. Lastly there are the children who would most likely prefer something silly, campy or funny. Well, their parents certainly do not want anyone to scare the living you know what out of them.

If you're looking for goblins, zombies, werewolves or vampires you can always find what you're looking for. You'll easily be able to find the silly, scary or gory decor no matter where you look. That's the great thing about Halloween. There's something for everyone and you can make the majority of people happy. Do whatever you can to make your home stand out amongst all the other homes on the block. The sky is the limit for what you can do so take advantage of it.

Halloween decor comes and goes quickly when the season comes around. Start planning early and find the best Halloween home decor to make your home stand out this holiday season.

Perfect Halloween House Decorating!

Halloween provides a wonderful opportunity to turn your ordinary run-of-the-mill house into a haunted hut that even the Undead would be on edge to enter! You can create this transformation by using various Halloween themed decorations and increase the reality with adding special effects like the addition of scary sounds and fog machines! You can make your rooftops creepy with the use of spider webs; you can make your jack-o'-lanterns grimacing and scary, and you can even use decorations which represent ghosts, ghouls, witches, goblins, etc.

It is not always the amount of decorations, but how you use them that create a believable 'haunted house' theme and the feel of horror and dread for would-be trick-or-treaters! With some themed props and decorations you can do even a minimal amount of work to give a terrifying look to your house!

Just to give you an idea, Halloween decorations are not the only ways you can add a spook-rific haunted theme to your house and Halloween party. To add even more to the horror, serve some really frightening foods to your guests that will leave them spellbound. Of course setting up some CDs to pump some ghoulish fun and frightening music, sounds and screams will leave your guests shuddering with fear!

1. Outdoor decorations: With properly laid out decorations, you can turn your plain average neighborhood house into a haunted house into the haunted Halloween envy of your neighborhood. If you are fortunate enough to have a large garden or lawn at the back of your house, you can transform it into a frightful themed graveyard. All you need to create your Halloween masterpiece are some tombstones, ghosts, ghouls, cobwebs, and skeletons that can be hung from the trees and layed out around the tombstones.

To add to the effect try to use a creepy and scary looking gate as the entrance and enhance with some scary nightmare sound effects and fog machines. If you don't have a garden or lawn to deck out, there is no need to be disappointed; you can use other Halloween props such as orange-colored Halloween lights and Halloween signs to create an equally eerie atmosphere!

2. Indoor decorations: You should not only scare your visitors outside your home, but continue your frightful theme inside as well! In fact, your house should be decorated in a way that your guests become frightened the moment they instead your dreadfully haunted house.

You don't need to spend a lot of money or time on this. Use minimal Halloween decorations such as ghosts, goblins, ghouls, etc. and decorate your house with them in a way that they all seem to be floating around! You can compliment it by creating dark corridors with the help of black or orange lights, some creepy Halloween special effects, and top it off with some frightful, yet fun Halloween foods to make your Halloween party complete.

Decorating Your House For Halloween Night

Don't have any ideas yet on how to decorate your house or apartment for Halloween night? I will give you a few.

First of all, you need to decide what do you want from Halloween this year? For example:

o You can create a spooky or scary look for your house and maybe yourself too. Or do you want to be funny and put kind of funny spooky decorations? Or maybe do you want to be weird with your ideas. Or you can combine scary stuff around with a joke at the end for your friends or family?

How much money do you want to spend for this? Is it going to be around $10 or $100? Do you want to buy a couple of Halloween pumpkins and put a broom by the entrance or hang a lots of Halloween decorations, get scary or funny masks for yourself and your household, make or buy Halloween costumes? If you have a dog or cat there are a lot's of Halloween pet costumes

o So, lets say you gonna spend a few bucks for Halloween decorations, what can you get done for a few dollars? For 1 dollar you can get a spider web. So get a few of them. They are very stretchy. Usually they look good in corners, especially corners of the ceiling, fireplaces, behind the door, on lights. Make sure you don't use those lights during the Halloween night to avoid fire hazard situations. Putting spider web on artificial plants gives dramatic look to the room. Make it as a centerpiece.

o Spending more then $50 on decorations. There are lots of ideas: starting with already carved pumpkins and crazy looking monsters in corners inside of the house as well on the yard. Like skeletons? There are tons of varieties of colors, sizes, bone or plastic ones. Some skeletons can hang on the trees around your house. Or how about moving skeleton? Br-r-r-r! I've seen those. I really like pirate skeleton. It will start to march on one place and shake your hand once you touch it in special place.

How much enthusiasm do you feel to do all this?

Do you plan to spend 15 minutes for setting all Halloween decorations or organize a Pirate party in your place with some Halloween pranks and freaky ghosts. You can organize a ball masquerade. It's all up to you.

Does not matter how far you want to go with a Halloween night you might want to check here for some specials on Halloween costumes or decorations.

I am a person who loves to perform and has a weird hobbies. I like to collect frogs, crocs... Joke. Anyway, I like many things and I have many hobbies, one of them collect silly weird things about simple things in a funny ways. I hope you got it.

House Party Ideas For Teens

The term house party refers to the kind of party in which many people or groups of people, most often high school teens but sometimes adults, gather at the house or apartment of the person hosting the party. House parties feature food, popular music, dancing and social interaction, and occasionally the consumption of alcohol. The first step towards arranging a house party for teens is to have a creative idea. A creative idea is an absolute necessity if you want the party to be a hit with your guests. Having a creative idea gives you the first step towards having a successful party.

Following are a variety of house party themes and ideas:

1. Halloween House party

Halloween is all about ghosts and other things related to death; however Halloween is also about fun, tricks and treats. Hosting a Halloween party in your house is a great idea, you can also host a Halloween like party even when it's not Halloween. You can have people who are coming over dress up as various scary characters i.e. vampires, werewolves, ghosts, reapers etc. The whole theme of the party will need to be set up in a way so that it gives people the creeps. You can have gothic type music in the background, with dark colored streamers and balloons with various faces. You can shut out all the lights and just light candles around the house creating lots of dark and creepy shadows. You should also put up fake cobwebs, flying bats and other similar decorations which are easily available for under a dollar at local stores.

2. Romantic House party

A romantic house party is great for couples and singles alike. The whole theme of this party is going to be love and affection. The music you play has to be romantic and slow. The main colors you need to play around with are red, pink, and blue. So you can have lots of red color balloons. You can also have heart shaped red or pink colored balloons. You can get away with not serving a lot of food in this type of house party since people there will mostly be interested in either falling in love or increasing their bond with their loved ones. So the food you serve needs to be light and more of the snack type. Alcohol definitely needs to be on the menu, with champagne on the top of the list. Also everyone should be dressed formal, same as when they dress for prom night.

3. Golden Oldies House party

This type of house party is great if it is executed correctly. This is a great party for teenagers as it gives them the feel of how things were a few decades back. One of the most popular themes is the 1970s. Have everyone dressed up as if it were the 70s. You can have classic 70s music playing. The décor should also be that of the 70s, something which will add more dimension to the effect you are trying to create. You can also hang 70s style streamers and balloons.

A Fun Kid Halloween Party Idea is a Haunted House Theme

A fun kid Halloween party idea is to turn the party into a haunted house! Kids love Halloween parties and Haunted Houses so why not combine the two? This Haunted Halloween party idea can be set up a family room, garage, or backyard.

Make announcements shaped like a haunted house with black paper, and white or yellow markers. Let everyone know what day, time and location of your haunted house Halloween party. Let the kids and guests know to dress up as ghosts, ghouls, a mad scientist, and monsters.

Once you decide on the location for the party, look at the room or yard to locate any safety concerns, any off-limit areas of the room or yard, and where to place decorations. Ideas for decorations and supplies include:

White sheets, tablecloths or fabric to drape over furniture
Black fabric or tablecloth to cover any bright areas
String twinkle lights, flashlights and litesticks
Dry ice or fog machine with adult supervision
Lots of spider webbing and creepy creatures
Scary looking jack-o-lanterns
Assorted large clear jars for a scientist lab area
Make tombstones from cardboard or foam blocks
Haunted sounds and eerie music

Cover any furniture or large items with white sheets or cloth. Place or hang scary decorations such as spiders, bats and rats around the room or yard. Lots of jack-o-lanterns piled in corners really adds to the effect. Make a graveyard with cardboard tombstones and plastic skeleton bones. Set up a table covered with a sheet for the mad scientist's laboratory. Large jars with green tinted water can display a cauliflower brain, green olives in a ball of mozzarella cheese looks like an eyeball, and lots of creepy bugs.

Lighting really adds to the effect of your haunted house Halloween party. Cover any really bright areas with black or dark cloth and hang twinkle, clip-on black and strobe lights in key locations. Look for areas that might become hazardous if too dark and add more lights. String up lots of spider webbing all around the room. Use dry ice with adult supervision or a fog machine to add to the spooky effect.

Serve Halloween party finger foods such as:

Bite-size pizzas (an olive in the center looks like an eye)
Fried-ravioli (looks like knuckles) with red pizza sauce
Chicken wings (tell the kids they are bat wings)
Frog-eye salad (ambrosia with green grapes)
Bubbly brew (punch)
Cocoa Cat Cookies (chocolate cookies cut into cat shapes)

Play spooky music and use a strobe light to play kids games such as Musical Jack-O-Lanterns (use pumpkins instead of chairs), Pin the Hat on the Witch, or Freeze Tag if you are using the backyard. Send everyone home with a treat bag full of goodies!
