Halloween Masks

Halloween Scary Masks

Halloween is of course all about dressing up, with costume parties and events happening wherever it is celebrated. Halloween masks are probably the key component of a good Halloween costume – get it right, and the rest comes naturally. Frankenstein, ghosts, vampires, witches, werewolves, devils, zombies, skeletons, Dick Cheney… all of these terrifying apparitions can be summoned by a simple mask. You can then find and buy an appropriate costume to suit, or make your own if you have the creativity.

But Halloween isn’t just about monsters and horror. It’s also a chance for some fun dressing up, some glamour. You could wear a masquerade ball mask, right out of a Viennese Ball in the 19th Century, or a Chinese Opera mask, or even a clown’s mask!

The masks themselves can vary in size and may have additional parts, depending on how much of yourself you want to conceal. Some masks are cover the full face, while others (like the masquerade masks) only the eyes and nose. Bigger masks might have hair or hoods to really let you get into character! Materials can also help make a more convincing impression: latex is a more flesh-like material than plastic, for example, and as it is also breathable will be much more comfortable when masks are worn for a long time.
